IELTS Test preparation - Reading and Writing

The reading section lasts for 60 minutes. There will be two to three passages and they may contain 2000 to 2750 words. No extra time is given for transferring answers; therefore the candidates have to enter the answers on the answer sheet itself. For academic reading, the passages are taken from the print media, books or journals. The topics are general in nature and do not expect a specialist knowledge of any subject.

Writing

60 minutes are allotted for the writing module. Two tasks are given. The candidates should spend not more than 20 minutes on the first task which requires at least 150 words to complete writing. Task two expects candidates to take a point of view and express it in no less than 250 words. Candidates who write below the prescribed word length are penalized.
