Study in the USAAdmission Procedure - Which standardized tests should I take?International students interested in studying in the US need to appear for some standardized eligibility tests. Your scores in these tests play a very crucial role in determining your chances of securing an admission.
All students need to appear for the TOEFL iBT test. Most universities prefer students who have secured at least 80 out of 120 in their TOEFL test. The TOEFL test is conducted by ETS Students seeking admission to Bachelor degree programs need to appear for the SAT Reasoning Test. The SAT Reasoning test has three sections – critical reading, writing and math. The maximum score is 2400. Some universities will also ask students to appear for SAT Subject tests. The SAT tests are conducted by College Board (www.collegeboard.com). Students seeking admission to master’s study programs other than management need to appear for GRE. The GRE examination has three sections – Verbal, quantitative and analytical writing. The maximum score is 1600. Students seeking admission to MBA programs need to appear for GMAT. The maximum possible score in a GMAT exam is 800. |
