Study in the USA

Things that need to be done after securing an admission

So you have secured an admission in your chosen university. You have also obtained the US student visa. The next thing to do is to learn more about the university and its norms. It is also a good idea to gather as much information as possible about the country where you will be pursuing your higher education.

If you are coming from a tropical climate you will find the US a cold place. You don’t need to buy winter clothing before you leave your country. You can buy them after arriving in the US. Always buy your spectacles and leather goods before you leave the country. You can buy laptops in the US: students get good deals. Buy a health insurance plan immediately upon arriving in the campus.

Book your flights well in advance so that you will get good fares. Some airlines give special student discounts and extra baggage allowance. Usually you can carry two suitcases each weighing a maximum of 23 kg. The locks should be TSA approved. You can fill the I-94 form aboard the flight. Upon your arrival in the US, you will be again fingerprinted.
